The easiest route is to look for a brand-name resort or all-inclusive, many of which have attractive rates and packages. But what if you want something smaller, with more personality? No problem: The islands are dotted with intimate, independently run hotels that offer all the touchstones of a dream Caribbean vacation—abundant sunshine, warm surf, rum drinks—without exorbitant rates. We combed through our Caribbean travel guides and selected ten such gems.
